P. Senthilnathan Ph.D

Dr. Senthilnathan has more than 25 years of experience in Chemical and environmental engineering fields, with specialization in wastewater treatment and associated environmental matters. His experiences include environmental auditing, waste characterization, obtaining environmental permits, process development, design of wastewater treatment plants, production technologies, cost optimization of wastewater treatment, troubleshooting, waste minimization, energy & water conservation, computer aided design, and mathematical modeling.  Recent projects include optimization of a hazardous groundwater treatment facility, design/review, troubleshooting and optimization of wastewater treatment plants, start-up, acceptance testing, and operator training, and providing technical support to ongoing environmental projects.


 
V. Ramachandran Ph.D Extractive Metallurgy
 
Dr. Ramachandran is a renowned hydrometallurgist with more than 35 years of experience in hydrometallurgy of base and precious metals (leaching, purification and electrowinning); Autoclave leaching of copper slimes, molybdenum concentrates, laterite and lead speiss – laboratory scale; Nitric Acid parting for silver slimes – laboratory, pilot plant testing and assistance in plant start up; Translation of flow sheets to engineering design in hydrometallurgical application of effluent treatment streams. He was a winner of the M.E. Wadsworth award for Hydrometallurgy in 2001.
 

 
Deepak Kantawala Ph.D Environmental Solutions (India)
 
During the more than 40 years of professional work, Dr. Kantawala has handled various projects in the field of environmental engineering. These activities included design and commissioning of more than 100 industrial wastewater treatment plants for various industry sub-sectors and a number of Common Effluent Treatment Plants, Sewage Treatment Plants, River Basin Surveys, preparation of Comprehensive Industry Documents leading to the development of Standards for various industry sub-sectors, for the Central Pollution Control Board and assignments with the World Bank, World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Government of Netherlands, Canadian International Development Agency Etc.
 

Ramamritham (Ram) Sridhar Ph.D., DIC, FCIM
 
Dr. Sridhar has over 40 years of experience in non-ferrous and ferrous process evaluation, selection, flowsheet development, flowsheet improvements, increasing process efficiency, smelter evaluation and smelter improvements. His expertise includes technology evaluation, development and implementation and providing innovative solutions to plant problems. Dr. Sridhar obtained his B.E. in Metallurgy from the Indian Institute of Science, followed by a PhD and DIC in Metallurgy from Imperial College, London, UK. As group leader and later section head of pyrometallurgy at INCO, he developed new processes which are described in 21 US and Canadian patents. He has been the Managing Director of Indian Steel Rolling Mills, Chennai, India, where he was responsible for increasing the annual production from 18000 to 60000 tons, and Director, India Company Limited as well as consultant to major mining and metallurgical companies. Dr. Sridhar is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow, Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum as well as the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and holds numerous patents.

Aparup Chattopadhyay, Ph.D., P.Geo.  
   
Aparup has more than fifteen years of experience in Process Mineralogy, development and application of quantitative mineral analysis for metallurgy diagnostics. His area of expertise include quantitative mineral characterization using classical and automated mineral analyzers for  evaluation of ores,  concentrates and tailings. He had pioneered the development of new Rapid Mineral Scan Service which has been highly praised and presently used by the industry as a cost effective way to obtain relevant mineralogy information quickly. He has developed a novel gold deportment technique for refractory gold and complex copper-gold deposit in collaboration with industry, various universities and different Centres-of-Excellence using state-of-the-art mineralogy techniques.
 
He obtained his Ph.D. in Geology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and served as a Scientist in Mineral Processing Division of National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur for more than 10 years and has co-ordinated the long term research program with Russian Academy of Sciences for mineralogical evaluation of uranium bearing Iron Oxide and Phosphate deposits. After completion of post-doctoral research fellowship in 2004 from UQAM, Montreal he served SGS Minerals as a Senior Mineralogist during 2005 to 2011, developed Rapid Mineral Scan Service, new characterization tool for refractory gold and mineralogical evaluation of Sulfides, Iron Oxides, Phosphate and Uranium. He has authored more than 20 technical papers in reputed journals and international conferences and Practising Member for Association of Professional Geoscientist of Ontario since 2006.
